about

Known for her stunning vocals and captivating live performances, Andreya Triana is back with the release of new EP Everything You Never Had Pt. II, out November 17th on Counter. The title track and new single is the first to be lifted off her highly anticipated album, due out in 2015. The EP also features the newly unveiled B-Side track "Superlove"

Andreya describes "Everything You Never Had Pt. II" with unique honesty: “This song is the story of me and my mum, she had me at 18 and raised me as a single parent for a long time. For many years we lived in damp council houses while she struggled to make ends meet but when I look back on those times I felt like we had everything. We had so much fun as she made everything an adventure and made me believe that I could achieve anything I wanted to. I always wanted to write a song for her and to tell that story so it was an amazing feeling once I'd written it.”

This inspirational honesty shines through the lyrics of the track, as Andreya unveils her story with rich, silky vocals slicing through layers of soft, wistful background voices. There is a captivating yearning through the song, as is swells into crescendos of strings and echoes through the chorus, but maintains a hypnotic nostalgic essence and captivating sense of hope throughout.

Hailing from South London, singing and song-writing from the age of seven about the sights and sounds of the inner city, Andreya's work is straight from the soul and this is reflected more than ever in "Everything You Never Had". When Breach discovered it and created the hit dance remix, the track was a Top 10 single and an A-List Radio 1 record in November 2013.

Andreya has also already collaborated with highly acclaimed artists and producers, including legendary electronic musician and producer Flying Lotus, on the track "Tea Leaf Dancers". It was this song that caught the attention of Bonobo who went on to produce Andreya's debut album, Lost Where I belong. She also featured on several of the tracks from his own album, Black Sands, including the stunning "Eyesdown". Both albums were released in 2010 earning the Accolades of Soul Breakthrough Album of the Year and Electronic Album of the Year respectively on iTunes. Through 2013, she performed several breathtaking live shows including a sold out Union Chapel show in London. Andreya was also celebrated in the Evening Standard’s Power 1000 List of Most Influential Londoners and was invited by the Arts Editor to perform at the event they held at Battersea Power Station.
